Approximate analytical solutions for the time-dependent Emden-Fowler-type equations by Variational Homotopy Perturbation Method

In this paper, variational homotopy perturbation method (VHPM) is used to obtain analytical solution for the time-dependent Emden-Fowler type of equations with singular behavior. The advantage of this work is twofold. Firstly, the VHPM reduces the computational work. Secondly, in comparison with existing techniques, the VHPM is an improvment with regard to its accuracy and rapid convergence. To show the efficiency of the VHPM, several examples are presented. Comparisons with exact solution show that the VHPM is a powerfull method for the solution of linear and nonlinear equations.

In this article, we presented a new approach deduced from He’s homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to obtain exact and/or approximate analytical solutions of Emden–Fowler type equations.
